What EnergyWise Does

EnergyWise produces a five-page computerized energy analysis from your building plans and accurately projects the heating and cooling requirements to size your equipment. This analysis will show:

• Cost savings for an EnergyWise/Foam Insulated Structure compared to a similar size structure that is typical stick built construction.
• The difference in heating and cooling consumption for:
  • Geo-thermal heat pumps
  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • Gas heat systems
  • Resistance heat systems
• The percentage each component adds to energy usage.
• Average monthly consumption. (Guaranteed!)
• Exact size of the HVAC equipment required for maximum efficiency.

The analysis is in an "EnergyWise Manual" that contains the construction and HVAC specifications. Engineering calculations that support the EnergyWise
decision with proof of a positive cash flow from day one! Often, just the savings from using smaller equipment will justify the cost of the EnergyWise analysis.

How does it work?

Many components directly affect a structure's energy consumption. EnergyWise takes control of these components to guarantee the heating and cooling cost.*

• Heating and Cooling - EnergyWise calculates the HVAC requirements for each structure including zoning of all HVAC equipment, equipment sizing and room-by-room CFM load requirements.
• Air-infiltration - A "leaky" structure is NOT EnergyWise. Air infiltration is addressed based on the type of construction used. Foam insulated structures, by nature; provide a monolithic exterior shell that is very tight. Being EnergyWise requires caulking everywhere air can infiltrate: multiple joints, window and door frames, sill plates, plumbing and electrical penetrations, etc…
• The Thermal Envelope - We take a holistic approach. EnergyWise has studied the aspects of insulation, air quality, comfort requirements, equipment efficiency and … well, at lot more than you want to hear about now. This translates to current, up-to-date information regarding available and cost effective options for saving energy - saving you money. Beyond saving money, the EnergyWise analysis considers humidity control, air quality and the general "health and comfort" of the environment within the structure.

The Guarantee!

EnergyWise offers a two (2) year guarantee for heating and cooling consumption through a national insurance company. EnergyWise will monitor on a monthly basis the energy consumption. If annual consumption exceeds the guaranteed amount in either of the first two (2) years, the insurance company will rebate the difference.
